Kathy’s Ukulele Kanikapila
Fridays from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Orcas Senior Center
Join the Kanikipila, Hawaiian for “play music,” led by Kathy Collister, The first half hour will be a lesson or two and then everyone will have the opportunity to play. Adults of all ages with all levels of ukulele expertise are welcome, but as per Kathy’s request, please be prepared to show your vaccination card at your first session. SJIMA Event at the Orcas Center
August 28th from 5:00-7:00pm
Featuring Personal Stories of Everyday Life by James Longley. What is it like to live in Afghanistan? James Longley, photographer and award-winning filmmaker, speaks to his years immersed in the daily life of old city Kabul. His exhibit at SJIMA combines vast panoramic images with portraits and film focusing on everyday life. This event is “Pay What You Can” and masks are encouraged. This presentation is sponsored by the Orcas Island Community Foundation and presented by SJIMA.
