Call for Artists
The Art Committee at the Orcas Island Public Library is seeking applications for the 2024 exhibit schedule. All types of art — painting, sculpture, photography, mixed-media — are acceptable.  The deadline for submissions is November 1st.   Interested Orcas Island artists 16 years or older should submit an application including the following:
1. name, address, email, and phone number
2. six digital copies of your work
3. a brief (200 word) statement covering the artist’s interests and background
Applications can be sent to to the Committee Chair, Dave Kosiur at: dkosiur@gmail.com. Brochures with additional information about submissions and exhibiting are available at the front desk of the Orcas Island Library.

In celebration of National Filipino American History Month, local author Victoria Gregada-Smith will be reading and signing her debut literary historical novel, The Thomasite, which was featured among the selected debut novelist works during this year’s Orcas Island Lit Fest.

Fall Festival at Family Tides Farm
October 8th from 11:30-4:30pm at 6389 Deer Harbor Road
Family Tides Farm invites you to the 2023 Fall Festival!  Enjoy live music, a pumpkin patch, hay rides, crafts and activities and all sorts of family fun. The event is free and open to the public. Food vendors will be on site and kids eat free!

Friends of the Orcas Island Library Annual Meeting
October 8th from 3:00-5:00pm at The Outlook Inn
Friends of the Orcas Island Library is delighted to present this year’s guest speaker, local author Samuel Gailey. Samuel will discuss his approach to stories, themes, and past/present/future books. Moderated by Ayn Gailey.
