Call for Artists
The Art Committee at the Orcas Island Public Library is seeking applications for the 2024 exhibit schedule. All types of art — painting, sculpture, photography, mixed-media — are acceptable. The deadline for submissions is November 1st. Interested Orcas Island artists 16 years or older should submit an application including the following:
1. name, address, email, and phone number
2. six digital copies of your work
3. a brief (200 word) statement covering the artist’s interests and background
Applications can be sent to to the Committee Chair, Dave Kosiur at: dkosiur@gmail.com. Brochures with additional information about submissions and exhibiting are available at the front desk of the Orcas Island Library.

Island Hoppin’ Brewery Anniversary Celebration
September 22nd from 1:00-9:00pm
Join the IH crew as they celebrate 11 years of great beer! There will be prizes, this year’s fresh hop beer release, PizzACab, and music throughout the day! No reservations required. $5 per person, ages 3 and under are free. Kids under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Parking is available in the farmstand parking lot, and guests can check in at the farmstand. We will have a farmstand host available up at the goat pens to introduce you to our most congenial farm ambassadors. Barn Restoration Celebration
September 23rd from 1:00-4:00pm at 343 Buckhorn Road
Join the Orcas Island Historical Museum in celebrating the restoration of the historical Jorgensen Barn, currently stewarded by the Knapp Family. The celebration will include barn tours, saw mill demonstrations, yard games, and more! There will be hand tossed pizza by PizzACab available for purchase, with funds benefitting the Museums. This celebration is free to attend.
