Kathy’s Ukulele Kanikapila
Fridays from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Orcas Senior Center
Join the Kanikipila, Hawaiian for “play music,” led by Kathy Collister, The first half hour will be a lesson or two and then everyone will have the opportunity to play. Adults of all ages with all levels of ukulele expertise are welcome, but as per Kathy’s request, please be prepared to show your vaccination card at your first session. Haunted House Casting Call

The Barnacle is hosting a haunted house in October! Do you like scaring people? Do you have acting experience? Are you free the last two weekends in October? If you answered yes to all 3 questions, please come to our open casting call with our director and all around acting champion Jon Spinogatti at Uptown Eastsound. Ages 16+ only please!

On Stage at Orcas Center: The Cake

Showing September 15 – 23, The Cake is written by Bekah Brustetter and directed by Melinda Milligan. Della the baker makes cakes, not judgement calls- those she leaves to her husband, Tim. But when the young woman she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina to get married, and the fiance is actually a fiancee, Della’s life gets turned upside down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? For the first time in her life, Della has to think for herself. Tickets available at orcascenter.org.

The Fall Great Islands Clean Up

Orcas volunteers can pick-up grabbers, gloves, bags, and safety vests at the Village Green the morning of the event.
