DSHS Van in Eastsound
February 14th from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Orcas Community Church
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Mobile Community Service Office is coming to Eastsound! They will be performing application interviews for Food and Cash, and yearly reviews. They will also be available to answer any questions on active cases or offered services.

Tax Help at the Orcas Senior Center
Wednesdays through APril 11th from 9:00am-4:00pm
This service is offered by Jim Biddick and John Carl, and is available to those who are low or moderate income taxpayers. This program is not associated with the IRS TaxAide program and is not a for profit program. The taxpayer will be responsibile for all information provided and for the completeness and correctness of the tax return. Returns must be filed by mail. The service is free, but a donation of $5 is appreciated to cover program costs. All donations will benefit the Senior Center.

Valentine’s Day Dinner at the Barnacle

Join us for a seven-course seasonally-inspired dinner paired with house crafted beverages in the romantic setting. Dinner is $135 per guest including the pairing. Executive Chef Raymond Southern will be offering an prix fixe menu featuring four courses with shared sides for the table. Cost for dinner is $65 per person plus an additional $40 for wine pairings. Reservations can be made at 360-376-2152 ext 400.

Island Pie Valentine’s Day Dinner

Island chef Christina Orchid has created a fantastic Valentine’s Day menu paired with four wines. Early reservations are recommended, cost is $75 per person.

OIEF Grilled Cheese Showdown
February 14th at 5:30pm at the Orcas School Cafeteria
Joins us for a family-friendly fundraiser full of delicious food! Your admittance entitles you to soup and to six grilled cheese sandwich tastings. The chefs of this event are: Kyle Freeman (OISD High and Middle School Principal), Hilary Canty (OICF Exec Director and sponsored by Island Market), Janet Brownell (OISD School Board), Mia Kartiganer (owner Mia’s Café), Chris Hogle, (owner Wild Island Juice, Bagel and Bowl), and Wendy Thomas (Star Route Kitchen and goat herdess). Tickets will be available at the door, cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 14, and $25 for families (up to four members).
