Cold Weather Shelter

The weather forecast has us expecting lower temperatures, so the churches have come together to offer an alternative to those in need of a place to sleep. Guests will be accommodated in the basement of the Orcas Island Community Church, with a the Episcopal Church’s Benson Hall as back-up. These spaces are open for overnight stays and will be staffed by volunteers from various congregations. Guests should plan to arrive between 6:00 and 9:00pm for sign-in, sleeping pads and blankets will be provided, as well as a hot oatmeal breakfast in the morning before the doors close at 8:30am.
