OPALCO Annual Meeting Festival
April 26th from 3:00-6:00pm at the OPALCO Parking Lot
From swag giveaways to an EV show and informational booths, there’s something for everyone at this co-op member appreciation event! OPALCO’s linecrew will host safety demos and games, showing how they keep our community powered up and safe.  Kids can get their own lineworker hard hat, touch a truck and play in a bouncy house. There will be BBQ and a raffle, where you can walk away with fantastic, valuable, and useful electric prizes.

On Stage at Orcas Center: Into the Woods
April 25th-May 11th
The Brothers Grimm hit Orcas Center’s Main Stage this spring with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make: Into the Woods. Directed by Jake Perrine.

Lum Farm invites you to celebrate Spring with their newest crop of farm babies with a free baby-viewing and petting zoo event (donations gratefully accepted).  The farm stand is also open during this time.

Annual Bill Yarlott Youth Fishing Derby
April 28th at Cascade Lake at Daybreak
Starting at daybreak, participants will gather at the Cascade Day Use Shelter for a free pancake breakfast to fuel up for a morning of fishing fun. At 11am, the excitement will peak as participants bring their catches to the weigh-in station. Prizes will be awarded for various categories, including biggest fish, best sportmanship, and more.

Indoor Pickleball

Cascade Creek Trail – Easy to Challenging

One of the best paths through the wooded southern section of Moran State Park runs along Cascade Creek, the stream that helps feed Cascade Falls. Traditionally starting at the South Campground of Cascade Lake, the Creek Trail winds through some of the oldest growth on Orcas and brings hikers past many man-made and natural landmarks including the south entrance bridge and the Lower Falls. Hikers can opt to enjoy themselves by the Falls, or continue the trail into the woods and meadows that hem the Creek up to the spillway at Mountain Lake. This trail features some switchbacks, but otherwise is quite easy to handle and a wonderful chance to see undisturbed natural growth and wildlife in the heart of Moran State Park.
