Watercolors Class at Orcas Senior Center

Dive into the soothing and expressive world of watercolor painting with instructor Robbie Walker! This beginner-friendly class meets on Mondays from 9:30 to 11am starting September 8. With years of experience in drawing and watercolor techniques, Robbie will gently guide you through the essentials, helping you build confidence and discover your artistic voice. Participants are kindly requested to contribute a nominal fee of $10 per session. Please bring your own basic supplies. Chair Yoga at Orcas Senior Center

Join the Senior Center for Chair Yoga, a soothing practice tailored for seniors and those with disabilities, held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. This gentle technique incorporates the use of a chair for support, enabling participants to explore balance poses without the concern of falling. Susie Frank, an Orcas resident of over 30 years, brings her expertise, having practiced yoga since 2009. Contemporary Dance
Tuesdays from 10:00-11:15am at the Orcas Center Dance Studio
Contemporary Dance meets Sundays & Tuesdays from 10:00-11:15am, at the Orcas Center Dance Studio and Thursdays from 5:15-6:45pm at Odd Fellows Hall. Drop-in classes are $20, or save with a 5- or 10-class pass for $15 per class. Passes can be purchased through the Parks & Rec website or in person at the office.
Sound Bath
Tuesdays at 11:00am at the Orcas Senior Center
Sessions are guided by Andréia Henigson, founder of attune.you, a sound healing practice offering calming, restorative experiences for physical and emotional well‑being. Bring a yoga mat and any comfort props (blanket, pillow). Sliding scale available, with free spots for those in financial hardship. We encourage you to reserve your spot ahead of time at https://attune.you. It helps us create a comfortable space for everyone. Walk‑ins are welcome as room allows. If you can’t book ahead, arriving about 15 minutes early is perfect. We’ll close the doors at 11:00am to support a calm, uninterrupted settling for the group.

Feldenkrais Classes at Orcas Senior Center

Discover the power of mindful movement with Andrea Preiss, an experienced physical therapist, Feldenkrais practitioner, and therapeutic eurythmist. Join her for a gentle, seated movement class every Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Orcas Senior Center. These sessions blend Feldenkrais and eurythmy techniques to support mobility, balance, stability, and even vision—ideal for all fitness levels. Please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. Salish Sea Concert Series: Folk, Baroque & Beyond
March 17th at 5:00pm at the Orcas Adventist Chapel
This special performance brings together guitarist and lutenist Oleg Timofeyev and flutist Jeffrey Cohan for an evening of music spanning three centuries. The program features variations on popular music, including 17th-century psalms, 18th-century Irish and Scottish folk melodies, and 19th-century popular opera tunes, demonstrating three distinct ways musicians have “jazzed up” well-known melodies. The concert will feature eight instruments from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic periods. Admission is by suggested donation of $20–$30 (free will offering), and attendees 18 and under are free. All are welcome regardless of donation.
