Holiday Debt Hangover Workshop

For those feeling the weight of holiday spending or struggling to manage debt, the Resource Center is offering support to help community members reset and regain control. On Tuesday, January 27, two free opportunities are available to help start the year on stronger financial footing.
– Daytime Drop-In: Your New Year Money Plan from 10:00am-4:00pm. Community members are invited to drop in and meet one-on-one with Resource Center financial counselors. Financial literacy team members Elisabeth Britt and Nick Johns will be available throughout the day to help navigate post-holiday financial concerns.
– Evening Workshop: Strategies for Managing Debt, from 5:30–7:00pm. Later in the evening, local expert Richard Pearson will lead an interactive workshop focused on practical, personalized strategies for managing debt—from student loans to holiday overspending. Participants will take part in a spending detox, work through a mock January budget to identify quick wins, and learn tools to strengthen long-term spending and saving habits. Snacks and drinks will be provided, all are welcome to attend.
Watercolors Class at Orcas Senior Center
January 27th from 9:30-11:00am
Dive into the soothing and expressive world of watercolor painting with instructor Robbie Walker! This beginner-friendly class meets on Mondays from 9:30 to 11am starting September 8. With years of experience in drawing and watercolor techniques, Robbie will gently guide you through the essentials, helping you build confidence and discover your artistic voice. Participants are kindly requested to contribute a nominal fee of $10 per session. Please bring your own basic supplies. Chair Yoga at Orcas Senior Center

Join the Senior Center for Chair Yoga, a soothing practice tailored for seniors and those with disabilities, held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. This gentle technique incorporates the use of a chair for support, enabling participants to explore balance poses without the concern of falling. Susie Frank, an Orcas resident of over 30 years, brings her expertise, having practiced yoga since 2009. Sound Bath
Tuesdays at 11:00am at the Orcas Senior Center
Sessions are guided by Andréia Henigson, founder of attune.you, a sound healing practice offering calming, restorative experiences for physical and emotional well‑being. Bring a yoga mat and any comfort props (blanket, pillow). Sliding scale available, with free spots for those in financial hardship. We encourage you to reserve your spot ahead of time at https://attune.you. It helps us create a comfortable space for everyone. Walk‑ins are welcome as room allows. If you can’t book ahead, arriving about 15 minutes early is perfect. We’ll close the doors at 11:00am to support a calm, uninterrupted settling for the group.
Tech Tuesday

Rick Boucher from Orcas Online is available at the library every Tuesday to answer all manner of computer, phone and tech questions. Not by appointment, drop in only.
Feldenkrais Classes at Orcas Senior Center

Discover the power of mindful movement with Andrea Preiss, an experienced physical therapist, Feldenkrais practitioner, and therapeutic eurythmist. Join her for a gentle, seated movement class every Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Orcas Senior Center. These sessions blend Feldenkrais and eurythmy techniques to support mobility, balance, stability, and even vision—ideal for all fitness levels. Please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. 18+ Pick-Up Basketball
Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30pm at the Orcas Island High School Gym
