Lum Farm Christmas Tree Sale
Thursday-Sunday from 11:00am-4:00pm
Noble, Frasier and Douglas Fir trees from 2 ft. to 10 ft. will be available. Tree sale hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11am – 4pm while supplies last. Christmas Tree Lighting
December 6th from 4:00-7:00pm at The Village Green
Come one, come all to Holiday on the Green and kick off the season with a celebration of community and good cheer! This year’s festivities will be the biggest and best yet with performances by the Choral Society, Kids’ Chorus, Orcas Dance Collective, Pedro Lopez De Victoria, Jack Carson, Sofie Rodriguez and more!  We’ll be lighting the tree, Santa will be on site, there will be music, a beer & wine garden, hot cocoa and cider, coffee, food stalls, activities for the kids, and some seasonally appropriate surprises!

OCRC Hygiene Drive
December 6th form 4:00-7:00pm at The Village Green
Since we know you’re all planning to hit the Village Green tomorrow for the tree lighting excitement, why don’t you grab a few things to bring and donate to OCRC during their hygiene bank collection drive? New unused supplies will be most welcome with laundry pods, dish soap, baby wipes, toothpaste, tissues, toilet paper and paper towles among the most requested items.

Winter Artisans Market

With over 30 vendors from 4 islands, wonderful gifts are at hand. Plus we are hosting a fun Holiday Makerspace with free classes that offer you a chance to relax with friends, learn felted animals, make an island-yarn weaving, create a lantern for the Winter Solstice Parade – and we would say decorate cookies but that class is already sold out! It all starts with the Friday Night Market 4-8pm. The silent auction opens at 5 with winning bids announced at 7:30. Drop in and show your support! Thanks to the generosity of many donors, this is a meaningful way to enrich our Island’s youth. Auction Benefitting Orcas Youth at the Winter Artisans Market
December 6th at 5:00pm at Odd Fellows Hall
Join us Friday evening at Odd Fellows for the Night Market with dinner by the Kitchen and drinks by The Barnacle. The bell rings at 5pm to launch the fun silent auction benefitting island youth programs. The Winter Youth Program Auction is filled with over 70 great items – something for everyone. Bids start at $25 and above. Wonderful wreaths and beautiful jewelry. Wood cutting boards and hand carved bowls. Handwoven elegant shawl and cozy knit winter hats and gloves. Overnight stays at great hotels and vacation homes. Holiday beverages and foods. Art, paintings and sculpture. Even a year of fresh eggs! Preview opens at 4pm at Odd Fellows Hall.

Holiday Swag Event at Camp Moran

Join Friends of Moran and Washington State Parks this Saturday for a one-of-a-kind holiday swag event and get an inside look at Camp Moran on the south end of Cascade Lake. There will be wreaths and cookies!

Annual Holiday Bazaar at The Legion
December 7th from 10:00am-3:00pm
The Annual Holiday Bazaar for the American Legion Auxiliary will have their bake sale, a soup bistro with 2 kinds of delicious hot soup, a Christmas room full of treasures, and 6 raffle baskets. The hall will be full of local craft vendors. The proceeds of the bazaar help to fund our veterans projects and scholarships.

Flocking Swans Holiday Merchantile
December 7th & 8th at Turtlehead Farm
An island holiday tradition takes on new form at Turtlehead Farm this December. From the creators of Solstice Mercantile, Flocking Swans is a one-of-a-kind experience featuring artists, makers, artisans and purveyors from across the islands. Nourishing mind, body, and soul, you will find delicious bites from Lone Pine Larder, Seabird Bakeshop, and Setsunai (from Lopez Island); incredible sips from Orcas Island Winery, Island Hoppin’ Brewery, and Pique Nique Wine; and warm drinks from Our Place Coffee Co. Plus, music! Internationally acclaimed Seattle based musician, Tomo Nakayama, praised by the likes of NPR, New York Times, and The Stranger, will perform on Sunday, December 8 at 1 pm.

Holiday Tea at Orcas Island Library

The Friends of the Orcas Library (FOIL) is thrilled to invite the entire community to its annual Holiday Tea, a delightful celebration of gratitude, joy, and the spirit of the season. This cherished tradition offers something for everyone! Enjoy a cozy array of coffee, tea, and punch, accompanied by a spread of homemade cookies, tea sandwiches, and other delectable treats. Delight the little ones with activities for children and a special visit from Santa Claus himself! Relax and soak in the ambiance with live music that will set the perfect holiday mood. Cookie donations are welcome–calling all bakers! Community members wishing to contribute cookies can drop them off at the library on Friday, December 6, or on the morning of the event

5th Annual Funhouse Gingerbread House Contest

Rgistration for this year’s beloved gingerbread house contest sponsored by The Funhouse Commons and Island Market is now open! This year will have 12 total awards for creativity and best-in-show. This Sunday iolair will be hosting a community open house to celebrate their official opening at the new artist residency with a special dancing light installment by Jared Lovejoy, Jake Perrine and Joseph Gray, music by Gene Nery, and treats by Olga Rising.
