Bruce Pavitt at the Orcas Island Library

Bruce Pavitt is a cultural icon and founder of Seattle’s Sub Pop, the record label that introduced the world to Nirvana, Soundgarden and Mudhoney. Few people have influenced music & popular culture as much as Bruce. Bruce will share stories about founding Sub Pop fanzine & record label and the rise of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and other bands of the Grunge movement, as well as being a participant, financier and witness to music history.
MAG Benefit Concert
March 2nd at 3:00pm at the OISD High School Gym
A treasured Orcas Island tradition returns with feature performances by local groups, including Turtleback Brass, Orcas Island Community Band, Orcas Choral Society Ensemble, and Orcas Island Public School musicians. Music Advocacy Group is excited to host this community celebration of the benefits of school music. A reception with sweet and savory refreshments will follow the concert. All are welcome to attend. Admission is by optional donation, with all proceeds going to Music Advocacy Group. Donations will be accepted at the door, online at OIMAG.org, or via check payable to Music Advocacy Group.
