Whether you haven’t knitted in years, want to learn to crochet, or just want to relax and chat, you’ll find a wonderful selection of donated yarn, needles, books, and plenty of friendly advice. Oregon Comes to Orcas

Join Lone Pine Larder, Westside Kitchen, and Doe Bay Cafe for a weekend of Oregon wine tastings, featuring Walter Scott, Elk Cove, and Cristom Vineyards. Lone Pine Larder and Westside Kitchen events are non-ticketed, family-friendly, and dog-friendly. Doe Bay Cafe’s tasting is 21+ and includes six wines and small bites for $35 per person.
Live Music & Dancing at the Orcas Hotel Bar

Ms. Brook’s Art Camp

Community members of all ages are invited to make art or enjoy a variety of hands-on crafts in an inspiring outdoor setting. Admission is $30 per person, $25 for children ages 12 and under, or $100 for a family of four. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Orcas Island Studio Tour Exhibition
July 31st at 5:30pm at Orcas Center
Join us in the Madrona Room and Orcas Center Lobby to preview the works of artists participating in this year’s Studio Tour. This free event features artists working in painting, printmaking, stone cutting, woodwork, blacksmithing, encaustics, ceramics, fiber arts, sculpture, photography, jewelry and more. There will be complimentary snacks and live music from Madison West.
On Stage at Orcas Center: James and the Giant Peach Jr.

This fantastical musical tells the story of a boy, his insect friends, and their unforgettable journey across the ocean inside a giant peach. Adapted for student performers by iTheatrics under the supervision of Timothy Allen McDonald. An open dress rehearsal will be held Friday, July 31, at noon, with admission by donation. Tickets range from $10 to $70, with a special $10 student rate. Orcas Center is also offering $5 tickets for children under 12 at the Saturday, Aug. 1, noon performance.

Adult Ballet: Level 1 Barre & Stretch
Saturdays from 9:30-10:30am at the Orcas Center
Adults Ballet classes are a great way to learn basic ballet steps at the barre to help stretch and strengthen your body. Some ballet classes will learn short choreography in the middle of the floor and work on turns, leaps and jumps. Dancers of all levels are welcome to come give these classes a try. Ages 16+. Contemporary Dance
Sundays from 10:00-11:15am at the Orcas Center Dance Studio
Contemporary Dance meets Sundays & Tuesdays from 10:00-11:15am, at the Orcas Center Dance Studio and Thursdays from 5:15-6:45pm at Odd Fellows Hall. Drop-in classes are $20, or save with a 5- or 10-class pass for $15 per class. Passes can be purchased through the Parks & Rec website or in person at the office(30 Pea Patch Lane, Eastsound, WA).
