Soil Regeneration Workshop

Learn about innovative soil building methods at work on Orcas Island farms at Rising Oak Farm on Nordstrom Lane. This event will begin with a talk covering natural farming techniques with Jesse and Chelsea and conclude with a walk to a neighboring farm to see a fascinating large worm compost system in action. Wear walkable shoes and work clothes and lend a hand to tend the compost system and learn from Davis Limbach how it can work in your backyard or community garden. Sci-Fi Saturdays at The Funhouse

Sci-Fi Saturdays are back! The Teen Funhouse Advisory Board is planning weekly hangouts for middle and high schoolers on Saturday nights with fun Sci-Fi films and free dinners! Music Amongst the Books with JP and the OK Rhythm Boys

The American Legion Post #93 is hosting a ham lunch and bingo with a chance to win a ham for your Easter dinner! Bingo cards are just $1, this event is open to the public! Bingo starts at 11:00am and lunch starts at noon for a mere $15. You can dine-in or take out.
Conversations with Morality Film Series
April 13th at 3:30pm at Orcas Center
Join the Threshold Collective for a special four-week series exploring the end of life in all its different expressions. Each event will have a film, discussion, and opportunity to learn about local resources. The Threshold Collective will be in the Madrona Room from 3:30-5pm sharing information on a variety of topics. There will be a table with information on MyDirectives, a free online platform that leads you through the process of filling out your Medical Directive. Other tables include The Orcas Conservation/Green Burial Project, Death Cafe, Orcas Library and a proposed “public memorial board” for downtown Eastsound. Films will start at 5pm with discussions following the films.
Lenten Vespers Service

The Orcas Island Community Church will once again host Lenten Vespers services, beginning March 9 and continuing through April 13. These contemplative gatherings will take place each Sunday evening at 5pm in the church sanctuary. Lenten Vespers offers a space for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal during the season of Lent. Each service will include music, scripture readings, meditation, and a time of silence.
