Somewhere to Begin Community Concert

This concert will feature local Orcas Island musicians Tom Rawson & The Irthlingz Duo (Sharon Abreu & Michael Hurwicz), leading songs for peace, as we come together in song to heal our hearts and our world. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome and will benefit Safe San Juans and World Beyond War.

Orcas Island Graduates Parade
June 15th at 4:00pm in Eastsound
Following the graduation ceremony the parents of the senior class invite the entire Orcas Island community to celebrate graduation with an Orcas style parade around Eastsound. The parade will begin shortly after the end of the graduation ceremony. The parade will start and finish at the High School. It will head south on Madrona Street from the High School then north up North Beach Road, turning right onto Mount Baker Road, continuing up the Terrill Beach Road hill then right onto Crescent Beach Road and finally ending up back at the High School.

Audio Brunch Workshop Series
June 16th from 11:00-12:00pm at the Orcas Center
Jake Perrine will present a Live Sound Basics workshop over TEN Sunday mornings at Orcas Center Center Stage. The workshop is open to the public, and designed for audio hobbyists who want to improve their understanding of how audio works, how to work with it, and improve their live audio chops for weddings, live events, live recording, etc. Tuition is a WORK TRADE! Anyone present at 11am for the each workshop will learn for an hour, and then head down to the Village Green Stage at noon and put their learning into practice by helping set up for the weekly Summer Concert Series show for an hour (and/or return at the end of the show and help break the gear down for an hour).

Luca Stricagnoli’s jaw dropping virtuosity includes playing up to 5 guitars at the same time. His repertoire, performed on double and triple neck guitars he himself designed, includes a blend of popular songs from contemporary rock, film scores and mind-bending originals.
