Doe Bay Wine Co. will be welcoming Alex and Veronica Neely from Libertine Wines in Portland for a winemaker tasting Friday May 12. These two are making some of the most interesting natural wines in the US. The first hour from 4-5pm will feature a guided, educational tasting limited to 12 seats. Mother’s Day Flower Workshop
May 12th at 4:00pm at the Orcas Island Public Library
Join Cindy Morgan of The Nest to prepare for Mothers Day! Make a floral bouquet in a vase and give it to your mother, or, even better, bring your mother to the workshop and make a special bouquet together! $40/person to cover vase, flowers, and supplies. Gertie’s Patio Ribbon Cutting

The community is invited to attend an open house and ribbon cutting Saturday, Join us at Gertie’srestaurant in the Historic Our House Building. The OI Chamber will cut the ribbon officially opening the patio at Gertie’s for the season. Free food and spirit-free punch will be served along with specials on wines from the restaurant’s curated collection. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate this new chapter and join the Gertie’s family in honoring Eastsound’s history at the island’s our newest neighborhood brunch café.

Mother’s Day Wildflower & Wildlife Walk

Grab your binoculars and join Land Bank staff for this special opportunity to explore the beauty and diversity of wildflowers, habitats, and vistas the mountain has to offer. Diamond Hill Preserve is closed to public access; this morning ramble offers a special opportunity to view the variety of flora and fauna thriving within the undisturbed acreage.  Space is limited to 15.
