Actor’s Theater Open Audition
June 1st & 2nd at 6:00pm at The Grange
The Actors’ Theater of Orcas Island announces open auditions for the production of the mystery-thriller DEATH TRAP, written by Ira Levin and directed by Robert Hall. Sidney Bruhl, once renowned as a brilliant playwright has had a string of failures. When a manuscript from an apparently naïve former student of his, Clifford Anderson, arrives for Sidney to review, Sidney sees an opportunity to resurrect his failing career. Clifford, however, proves not to be so naïve after all, and death is always closer by than we think. The cast consists of five actors: three men and two women. Sidney is aged 50+; Clifford is aged 30-50; Myra, Sidney’s wife is aged 40+; Helga, Sidney’s psychic neighbor is 40+; and Porter, Sidney’s lawyer is aged 40+. Actors of all ages are encouraged to audition. Portions of the play will be quite physically challenging for the two male leads. A copy of the script is available for reading ahead of auditions at the Orcas Island Public Library main desk. There will be six performances over two weekends beginning August 22, 2025, running through August 31. Anyone with questions or wanting to audition but not able to do so on these dates should contact Robert Hall at rmhbluesky@yahoo.com or call 360.317.6965
