OICF Annual Give Orcas Campaign
May 2nd-16th

This is our biggest campaign yet and we invite everyone in our community and beyond to give a gift to these 27 amazing needs and opportunities in our community. Mark your calendars for our very popular game days- Ben Franklin Day (May 4) and Unique Donor Day (May 10). Visit www.giveorcas.org to give anytime between May 2 – 16 to contribute to our island’s non-profit organizations.

High School Arts Artist Reception
May 6th from 5:30-7:00pm at Orcas Center
The Orcas Center and OHS Arts would like to invite you to come and celebrate the brave new voices of OHS Arts. Young voices in the Arts from Orcas Island High School will have an official visual arts opening on Friday, May 6th in the main lobby room of The Orcas Center. Details can be found here.

The Science and Spirit of Seaweed at the Orcas Library
May 8th at 3:00pm

At this event, Pacific Northwest-based seaweed harvester and author Amanda Swinimer will share highlights from her remarkable life beneath the waves.  Learn more here.

Orcas Socrates Cafe
May 8th from 4:00-6:00pm
Orcas Senior Center continues to virtually host the Orcas Socrates Café on the second Sunday of each month. It’s an opportunity to engage in an open discussion on philosophical perspectives. This is not a book club, but rather a conversation, based on the book, Socrates Café: A Fresh Taste of Philosophy by Christopher Phillips. Please see the registration details here.
