Halloween Weekend Activities
– 3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Competition at The Orcas Hotel October 27th continues through October 30th
– Spooky Tales at the Orcas Historical Museum October 27th & 28th at 5:00pm in the Main Gallery
– Orcas Island Market Fall Sidewalk Food Festival October 27th & 28th from 11:00am-4:00pm with live music by Baker & West, pumpkin carving, food and beer, and seasonal produce specials.
– An Intimate, Haunting Evening with Leo Moon at Orcas Island Winery: doors at 6pm. Space is limited to only 40 tickets, $10 per person. Pay at the door, or reserve in advance via email at hello@orcasislandwinery.com
– Annual Witches Paddle at Cascade Lake October 28th at 1:00pm Grab your hats and paddle boards, and bring your own spirits and snacks!
– Cedar Hill’s Haunted Barn October 28th from 7:30pm-12:00am Advanced tickets are available for $10 each or $20 for as many times you can handle! Enjoy the bonfire, donuts by Barb Griffin, and getting scared out of your wits! Please consider parking at Camp Orkila for the haunted hay ride and then walking to the barn!
– Camp Orkila Haunted Hay Ride October 28th from 7:00-9:30pm Note: The haunted hay ride is recommended for older children and adults. A significant portion will be walking (parking for the Cedar Hill Haunted Barn will be available at Camp Orkila.) Pre-register for the hayride here!
– Halloween Dance Party at the Grange featuring Plea80s October 28th, doors open at 7:00pm, music from 8:00-10:00pm. Tickets are $10. Get yours here! Costumes encouraged! Spooky Trashion Fashion Show during the intermission hosted by the infamous Leon Rosenblatt and DJed by the talented Charlie Eon.
– Cover Show Benefit Concert at The Sea View Theatre October 29th at 6:00pm Come for skits, bands, food trucks, costumes, photobooths and more mysteries and surprises along the way! This year’s event will be raising money for the Orcas Island Veterinarian Clinic Angel Fund.
– Camp Orkila Fall Festival October 29th from 1:00-5:00pm
Call for Artists
The Art Committee at the Orcas Island Public Library is seeking applications for the 2024 exhibit schedule. All types of art — painting, sculpture, photography, mixed-media — are acceptable. The deadline for submissions is November 1st. Interested Orcas Island artists 16 years or older should submit an application including the following:
1. name, address, email, and phone number
2. six digital copies of your work
3. a brief (200 word) statement covering the artist’s interests and background
Applications can be sent to to the Committee Chair, Dave Kosiur at: dkosiur@gmail.com. Brochures with additional information about submissions and exhibiting are available at the front desk of the Orcas Island Library.

Tokitae: A Celebration and Honor of Life and Leadership
October 28th at 9:30am at the County Dock at the Ferry Landing
