Salish Seed Project Native Wildflower Sale
Reserve September 13th-19th, Pick-up October 1st
Native plant lovers take note – the Salish Seeds Project’s annual fall wildflower sale is almost here!  Reserve plants online September 13th – 19th, then pick them up on October 1st at locations on San Juan, Orcas, Lopez, Shaw, and Waldron islands. All plants are produced locally by the Salish Seeds Project, a joint program of the San Juan County Conservation Land Bank and the San Juan Preservation Trust. The sale opens online at 9 am Tuesday, September 13 on the Land Bank’s website at sjclandbank.org.

Kathy’s Ukulele Kanikapila
Fridays from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Orcas Senior Center
Join the Kanikipila, Hawaiian for “play music,” led by Kathy Collister, The first half hour will be a lesson or two and then everyone will have the opportunity to play. Adults of all ages with all levels of ukulele expertise are welcome, but as per Kathy’s request, please be prepared to show your vaccination card at your first session. On Stage at Orcas Center: The Cake
September 16th & 17th at 7:00pm, 18th at 2:00pm
Showing September 15 – 23, The Cake is written by Bekah Brustetter and directed by Melinda Milligan. Della the baker makes cakes, not judgement calls- those she leaves to her husband, Tim. But when the young woman she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina to get married, and the fiance is actually a fiancee, Della’s life gets turned upside down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? For the first time in her life, Della has to think for herself. Tickets available at orcascenter.org.
