Live Music at The Barnacle: Ira Echo
September 22nd, 7:00pm
Currently based in New Orleans, Ira Echo is a musician, movement artist mostly known for their performances with jazz ensembles on violin. Ira currently performs in duos with New Orleans’s bass player, Martin Masakowski, and Argentinian guitarist Salvador Avila and as a solo artist utilizing percussion, looping, and found sounds. No cover. Read more about Ira’s impressive performance history and listen in at www.iraecho.com

On Stage at Orcas Center: The Cake

Showing September 15 – 23, The Cake is written by Bekah Brustetter and directed by Melinda Milligan. Della the baker makes cakes, not judgement calls- those she leaves to her husband, Tim. But when the young woman she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina to get married, and the fiance is actually a fiancee, Della’s life gets turned upside down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? For the first time in her life, Della has to think for herself. Tickets available at orcascenter.org.
